WelcomeI am a PhD student in the Games and Virtual Worlds group at Utrecht University. My research area is crowd simulation and I work in the Metaverse project. My interests include computer graphics, virtual and augmented reality, display and projection technology, high dynamic range imaging and game technology. I recently graduated with a MSc in media systems from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. I did the actual thesis project at the Delft University of Technology Computer Graphics Group on procedural modelling of cities. While in Weimar, I developed a 3D VR game for mentally handicapped children as a research project, worked on a high dynamic range projector, and was a student teaching assistant at the augmented reality chair in the fields of computer vision and information displays from 2005 to 2008. I spent 2 years at the Fraunhofer IMK department of virtual environments near Bonn, developing a virtual physics teacher with emotional reactions to the students and teching methods that adapt to the student's abilities. I also spent some months in Miami at the Fraunhofer IBMT-FTeCH doing computer vision algorithms. In 2004 I received a graduate degree (Dipl.-Inform.(FH)) in computer science from the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, where I specialized in autonomous robots and chipcard encryption.
